Street Optimization
Mobile has an exciting opportunity to transform the safety and economy of downtown by implementing recommendations from the Street Optimization plan created by Jeff Speck FAICP and Nelson Nygaard's Alyson Fletcher. The team gathered input from residents, downtown workers, visitors, and city officials and then spent four months examining every block of the Downtown Mobile street grid. The recommendations found in the Street Optimization report below are transformational. The video of the final presentation will put the recommendations into context and explain why these changes would have such a big impact on our city center.
