Event Date: November 29,2022-November 30,2022

The year-long celebration of the birth of Mobile's Renaissance Man, Eugene Walter, wraps up with two days of festivities.

The first day of the event, Eugene on Stage and Film, features a live reading of Jennie the Watercress Girl by Dr. Willoughby's Readers Theater and a screening of Robert Clem's, The Last of the Bohemians. A reception with libations and light refreshments will follow on the terrace of the Alabama Contemporary Art Center. $10 per person.

Attendees of day two of the celebration, Toasts and Tributes in the Graveyard, will join a secondline procession from the Ben May Main Library to the Church Street Graveyard and offer toasts to and memories of Eugene. A reception with libations and light refreshments follows at the library with music by the Excelsior Band. There is no charge for the day two events, but please RSVP so we will know how many people to expect.
