Tourism in Mobile:
As one of the most historic cities along the Gulf Coast, Mobile attracts tourists from around the globe. Some fast facts about Mobile Bay Tourism:
- Mobiles annual tourism spending increased by 18% in 2005 with more than $661 million spent, a sizeable increase compared to the $558 million spent in 2004
- The Mobile Metropolitan Statistical Area is the largest in the state in terms of travel-related spending.
- Mobile is the second most visited county in the state with 3,041,056 visitors in 2005. This is an increase of more than 15% from 2004.
- Travel related employment increased by 17% from 2004 to 2005 to a total of 14,168 travel related jobs in Mobile County.
